You can't taste adulteration.
Adulteration in fats, oils and honey can't be caught by eye, smell or any kitchen test. Shoppers are told to trust established brands — but when India's Centre for Science and Environment put the leading honey brands through independent purity testing, most of them failed, and samples deliberately spiked with syrup still passed the national standard tests.
Meanwhile the producers who farm honestly — the family pressing oil in a wooden ghani, the cluster growing single-origin turmeric — have no way to prove it and no shelf to prove it on.
Jumca exists to close that gap from both ends.
